Breguet was founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1775 and is credited with inventing the tourbillon, the gong spring for minute repeaters, and the first wristwatch, made for the Queen of Naples in 1810. It remains one of the few houses whose historical inventions are still standard across the industry.

Breguet signatures to look for: hand-engraved guilloché dials, blued open-tipped "pomme" hands, fluted casebands and a coin-edge profile.
